Updating to snowleopard dec 09
If any more info is required, I will try to be as clear as I can. Upgrading from a Mac with OS X Snow Leopard to OS X 10.7 Lion is a snap.I'm was running Leopard when I first encountered this problem.I've since upgraded to Snow Leopard but that had no effect on this issue.
Hey guys, As stated in the title I'm not able to install snow leopard on my sister's old i Mac. It has all the specs necessary and it's running on an intel processor so there should be no trouble right?
I had tried to set it to update from my OS X server (server.local) (instead of pulling from Apple) to save bandwidth, but was never able to get it working.
Now when I run Software Update, I get: The Software Update Server (server.local) is not responding.
error includes: ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local My SQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) Anyway, before I ran the new install on the i Mac I managed to drag the data directory onto a USB flash drive as a precaution.
I'm hoping once I get the database server running again I can reconnect this data.
